Sorry for all these old ones i've been posting

but i'm stuck somewhere with nothing much to do this last couple days after a couple weeks of absolutely frantic shit so i'm just going through old stuff on a hard drive i brought with me. i'll probably take a lot of the old stuff down once i've got some new stuff to show, but i can't draw atm because of a cool as hell bout of tendinitis.

I BELIEVE THE ATTACHED EMOTICON WILL ADEQUATELY DESCRIBE THE COMPLEX COUNTERBECOMING OF INFLUENCES AND NEUROCHEMICAL INTERACTIONS THAT BOTH ENGENDER AND REFLECT MY CURRENT MOOD!!

  • Mood: Wow!

Devious Information

Um, I don't quite remember Deleuze so well at the moment, so I am in no position to discuss wether his suicide was or was not related to his ideas. However, if it was cancer that took him to that, it makes a little more sense, after all, cancer is a slow painful death, it's funny how dogs have the right to die with dignity and no pain, however humans have to stand a sure death in the most painful conditions.

Anyway, I remember I did my Deleuze exam (I study philosophy) drawing a little comic in the paper, because rhizome is easier to understand and explain through art than it is through words. And yes, the teacher liked my answer. Yay for the hetherodox.

Haha! In that case, cool joke man. It took me a while to get it.

And yeah, Deleuze was very into life as a kind of force, but at the same time he was also ready to sacrifice his own fractured and unstable subjectivity in the knowledge that a kind of life would continue after him, in terms of constant churning and becoming of material potential (Rosi Braidotti calls this force "zoe" as opposed to the political subject of "bios"; it's a compelling reading in her book "Transpositions").

I think the most ironic thing is that he committed suicide because of his cancer, because cancer is almost a kind of a definition of a non-arborial non-biunivocal rhizomatic body. But then, again, as Rosi Braidotti points out, it is important to have an "exit strategy", whether it is slow suicide (drink, drugs, eating crap food, no excercise, smoking, or just living til you die) or fast suicide (jumping out of a window).

:)

Of course I do. It's black humor of some sorts. Also, it is, I believe, quite of a let down for a thinker like that, who did praise life a lot in his own way, to end jumping off a window. Oh, but I am not in position to judge him, he probably had his reasons, but I like it when thinkers set an example. The one jumping off the window should have probably been Sartre :D

Oh hey, your comment is pretty appropriate re: jumping out of a window. You know Deleuze committed suicide by jumping out of a window, right? :D

Hey, thanks for the fav, you've got a nice character in your gallery, by the way. Although I fear you because Gilles Deleuze is your favourite writer. MIL PLATEAU, AAAAARGH! *jumps off a window*

Although I CAN understand Deleuze, but only after smoking a joint.
